Blurred menu text from DVD Architect
Dear Gurus,
I’ve looked through the posts, did some research on internet but still don’t have answer on the question – why DVDA menu text is too blurred, especially on TV? Could you give me an idea how to make it sharper? There are a lot of examples around where DVD text is very sharp (karaoke, for example). I want to make similar to that.

I’ve personally never had an issue with blurry Menu text, but I have had an issue with blurry credit text and generated text. My solution there was to adjust the format for the generated text/credit to 1440 by 1080 to match my project resolution. It came out crystal clear. If you can, right click over the Menu text and dig into the properties. Change the resolution so that everything matches or just use the highest reslotuion possible. It can never hurt.

Your answer makes me more confused, sorry. I am new at DVDA and probably me question was not correct enough. I am talking about menu button text. One of my menu has 18 links and I use for them Button style “Text only”. The font is Arial Narrow, 14. The text example on Preview screen looks like this
I think it’s bad, but on 42” TV it will be terrible.
And few questions, please, related to your answer:
What is “credit text”? I didn’t find it in DVDA help.
How can I adjust the button text resolution? I don’t see possibility to change it on Button Properties screen. Also, I really don’t see Properties by “right click over the Menu text”. This is my confusion. -
With 18 links on a single page your text might just be too small to be rendered cleanly with DVD Architect. Try using less links per page so that you can make the font bigger.

I agree John that quality depends of the quantity. Do you think DVDA cannot provide better quality for 18 links per page? If so, what can do this? What kind of software can make excellent quality text for the font size 12, for example? Just get any production DVD and watch on TV (karaoke, for instance). The text quality is great but font size is smaller than my 14. Why should I endure low quality on my movies?
I met some recommendations to use Photoshop for the text preparation, but I didn’t find any good lesson where is explained how to use Photoshop for DVDA menu. Give me a link, if you know some, please. Anyway, thank you for your help. -
You can certainly make the menu in Photoshop. Just create an image to match your menu size (e.g., 720×480 DV or 655×480 square pixels) and import that as the menu background into DVD Architect.
