I posted once before but didn’t get an adequate reply..
I’m trying to blur out a persons face in my video and want to give it the pixilated/mosaic look..how do i go about doing this in Premier Pro? Being new to this program, could someone give me a step by step outline of how to achieve this?

    Many thanks
    Pete

    Hi Pete

I think this is possible to do in Premiere Pro, just not easy.

Drop in a copy of your video layer, no sound needed, just video. Blur it. Now you need to create a track matte of the person’s face. if they don’t move much, export a non-blurred still to photoshop and create a white blob on a black background image. The white blob being the person’s face. Save this.

OK, go back to your blurred footage and i think you need to add an effect to achive transparency. This is where I get hazy, as I haven’t used Prem Pro for this in years. Basically, you need to get PremPro to use the white blob as a matte and allow the rest on the blurred image to become transparent.

    Hope that helps
