When I import Dolby AC3 5.1 sound into DVD Architect 5 from Vegas 9c I see only two tracks in Architect: the “left” track (if that is what it is) is very quiet whilst the “right” is normal or loud.

I found a poster elsewhere with this problem, incidentally, and a response that Architect “shows” the 5.1 as a stereo mix but does create 5.1: on the strength of this I burnt a BluRay disk based on this but the audio was indeed skewed as described above.

It //may// be 5.1 (I can’t tell due to the low volume levels on some chennels) but is unusable.

The same project in stereo is absolutely fine.

Are you using the “PRO” encoder or the “STUDIO” encoder?

    Studio. Is this a problem?

    Yes… it’s a problem.

I have seen the same issues with the studio encoder. Not to mention the fact that the studio encoding (99 times out of 100) gets re-encoded in DVDa anyway. The studio encoder is not certified in any way, shape or form and therefore…. stinks (to put it mildly 🙂

If you use the Pro encoder you will not get this issue and you will also never re-encode (provided of course your encoding meets the proper standards)

    Thanks, Rob: problem solved.
