    Hello All

Does anybody know how to blur stuff out of your shots. Like peoples faces who don’t want to be on TV or brand names you are not authorized to show?

    Cheers

Have the shot on V1. Put the exact same shot on V2 by matching back to the clip and OVERWRITE editing it in. Add a gaussian blur to get the level of blur you want. Then add the 4-point or 8-point garbage matte and move the points (by clicking on the + symbol in their row and manually moving it) until you have an area covering what you want covered. Soften the edges (an option with the garbage matte) until you get the desired look. If the area that you want blurred moves a lot, then you will be doing a lot of leyframing of the movement.

Or check out the fantastic Boris Continuum plug-ins. You’ll want the Witness Protection in this case, and it comes with it’s own built in motion tracker. So no frame by frame keyframing.

It’s got a 14 day demo so you can see that it works. It’s well worth it. I use at least one BCC plug-in in every project.

Another option is the Pin Blur plugin in my Motion Tracking plugin kit, especially for doing automatic face bluring and such. You can try out a demo download here: https://www.lyric.com/fcp-plugins/index.htm .
