Hi hope someone can help as im going out of my mind!
I know that there must be an easy way of doing this, but i cant seem to find the way.
How do i blur just a segment of a moving frame. ie, to blur and cover the identity of a person face whilst walking through a shot.
    Hope you can help.
    Many Thanks,

    It is easy…but involved.

Layer your footage..put the same clip on V1 and V2. Add the Gaussian Blur to the clip on V2…then add the 8-point garbage matte and move the points until the area you want blurred is covered.

You may have to keyframe this if the subject moves.

There’s also the Motion Tracking Collection of plug-ins from CHV which included their “Point Distortion” plug in, designed for just this purpose.

Be tempted just to use a circular matte and keyframe the position over the face – instead of the 8-point GM. Be a lot quicker to prep and render.

Hmmm, that’s odd. I just cut and pasted the link directly from my post and it worked fine. Oh well, https://www.chv-plugins.com will get you to the home page, then choose FX-Script Plugins and look for the Motion Tracker link. They recently redid their website and although it looks cooler, the old one had way more information about the plug-ins.

He’s got some pretty cool stuff so you might want to look through and choose the entire bundle for 299.
