    Hey All,

I’ve been using the Vello Wireless Shutterboss as a remote for taking videos in the woods with my T4i with Magic Lantern. I have my camera set up so that it starts recording video by pushing down halfway on the shutter (for what is usually autofocus). While it technically works fine, sometimes the camera will shut down during long periods of idle time. When this happens it is sometimes difficult to know if the camera is recording or if using the remote just turned the camera back on.

I think it could be really nice to have an app that I could connect to a receiver through bluetooth so that I could more accurately know that the camera is in fact on and recording.

Do any of you have any positive experiences with a cheap or simple set up like this? It seems like there are a lot of options but a lot of them are expensive or/use wifi.

    Thanks!

If you are in Android, go to the Play Store and search for “Canon Remote Shutter Release”, there seems to be Canon Camera Connect apps but I would test them out and see if they are compatible with your Canon Camera device model. Good luck.
