So, I’m going to be taking my new 17″ MacBook Pro laptop on its first plane ride next week!

With airline regulations concerning wireless devices and all, is there away for me to turn off Bluetooth so I can use it on the plane? Can it be turned off by hitting some key combination so that Bluetooth does not come on when I boot up?

    Thank you!

Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Hardware -> Bluetooth

You can do everything you need in there. At the bottom is the option “Show Bluetooth Status in the Menu Bar.” If you put that on you’ll get an icon by your clock that you can use to turn it on and off quickly.
