I’m trying to install a Decklink HD Extreme card and keep gettinng a bluescreen when the Decklink Display drivers are trying to install. The mother board is a Thunder K8WE. The os is Windows 64-bit. I’m not sure if this is due to Quicktime 7 or not but I’m going to try and install 6.6 (if I can remove 7 properly). I’ve updated my Nvidia drivers (Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX). Does anyone have any info about this?

XP X64 drivers for Decklink were produced for usage by software developers using Directshow on this platform.

Unfortunately Quicktime does not support this Windows Operating system. Which means most of the Decklink applications will not work.

You should review the following tech notes before continuing.

Recommend using X32 if you are an editor and you want all of the functionality from our drivers.

If you have anymore questions please email me or post to the cow.

    Regards

Hey Andrew, David Spoelstra replied to my support request email by telling me to remove all my extra RAM and only use 3GB. Well, I removed the RAM, re-booted and then the drivers installed just fine. Of course the minute I re-installed the RAM the system blue screened. I have 3 systems in my shop. One uses a Decklink Extreme and I love it. No complaints at all. The Quad was built following the specs on the Black Magic site with the intent of using this system as a graphics system and an HD cutting system (just like the other box except that it’s standard Def). I use Nucleo Pro with After Effects which takes advantage of as much RAM as you give it so the Quad has 10GB of RAM (which is why I need 64-bit). Quicktime 7 works great under Windows 64-bit as long as you un-install the security patch that Windows installed some time ago. I’ve been using it without any problems. I read in the tech doc that you guys are working on a driver that will support more than 3 GB of RAM. As I asked David, do you guys (Black Magic design) have any idea when these drivers might be released?

    Hi sean
I tried nucleo on our multibridge extreme and it was twice as slow to render in AE as opposed to twice as fast ….Not sure what that means, but nucleo didnt like our system.

That’s really strange. I’ve been using Nucleo ever since it’s release on a Decklink system and the performance is pretty much as advertised. I hope those new drivers come out soon. I now have a Decklink HD Extreme card sitting in it’s box on a shelf doing absolutely nothing.
