For some reason my transition includes a blue insertion. First there is the last frame which then goes into the transition. The transition opens up with a blue color for the next frame instead of the next frame, then it goes into the next frame. I have searched the forums but cannot find any reason for this to happen. This happens with every transition regardless of what type. Any advice is appreciated.

Transitions use 15 frames after the out-point of the first clip and 15 frames before the in-point of the second clip. Adding a transition should not be an after thought, but should be considered when choosing in and out points in the Source window.

    Mike,
I’ve given the transition 5 seconds and still get the blue frame insertion. Are you selling your house?

I have tried a 3rd party transition of Boris FX and it works without the blue screen insertion.

Any suggestions to correct this situation?

I have always used 5 seconds for a transition. I believe it is the first clip that is the problem since I have found that transition from the second clip to the third runs smoothly. There is something inherently wrong with the first clip.
