  • Blu Ray render question for 720-60p video

Posted by Dave Petteruto on July 16, 2013 at 11:06 pm

I have a Vegas(10) project with HD video that is 720-60p with project properties of 1280 x 720 59.940fps. To render this for Blu Ray (using DVDA) what would be the best way to go?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, Vegas Pro doesn’t ship with any 60p Blu-ray templates and neither Sony AVC or ManConcept AVC will allow you to set the frame rate to 60p so you are stuck at the moment until Sony adds this support to Vegas Pro.

One workaround I can think of would be to render to Video for Windows using the HD 720-60p YUV template. Then create a Blu-ray 720-60p project in DVD Architect and give it this file. It should render it to 720-60p for you. I realize this is two steps so maybe someone else has a better solution but that’s one possible workflow.

Thanks for the info John. I’ve been away on vacation otherwise I would have responded sooner. I will certainly give your method a try. I take it that your suggestion once burned to Bluray disc should play ok in all or most Bluray players?
    Thanks again for the suggestion.

    Thanks

It should. 720-60p is part of the Blu-ray spec.
