Blu Ray authoring
I will be creating a number of hour-long “nature-absorption” videos using FCP. These will be accompanied by 5.1 surround sound.
I desire to make Blu Ray discs of each production suitable for use as masters for replication. What software should I use for authoring? Is Adobe Encore CS5 up to snuff? Will it allow me to create nice-looking navigation interfaces?
Also, I will need to include a use-selected option to view subtitles, which will be identifications of species (birds, frogs, plants, insects) when they first appear in a particular video. It is important that the viewer be able to disable the subtitles (the default will actually be no-subtitles).
If necessary, I would be willing to buy a PC in order to use software other than Encore for Mac. I understand the FCP is very limited for mastering, and so is Toast. Earlier posts indicated that Encore wasn’t that good either. Has this situation changed over the last few months?
