Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Blow out?

Can anyone suggest a quick way to blow out a logo? I’ve got a logo against black and I want to create a ‘flare’ that will grow and blow out to such an extent that it will white-out the screen. I’ve tried Light Burst, Shine and Light Factory but they all leave elements of the logo. Also, I’ve tried putting the effect on a Solid with a Mask (to give it shape) but controlling the way the Mask grows with the effect is difficult; plus I can’t find a Blending Mode that leaves the flare but removes the Solid.

    Thanks

    Antony,

you could create a layer similar to your logo, but solid white. The apply a gradient wipe (useing the original layer as the reference) to reveal it. you could the mess about with tranfer modes and flares and glows untill you get the desired effect

    good luck

    How about Effects>Simulation>Shatter?

Download the demo, and the Camera Flash effect should be unlocked.

If you put the flare on a black solid that is set to SCREEN transfer mode it will drop the solid and leave the flare. Then keyframe the brightness of the flare till it washes out the logo.

Also add a levels to the logo and help the flare out by keyframing the white levels clipping the logo as well.
