i’m putting together a little slide show of stills and music in FCP. it all plays fine when just cutting from shot to shot, but as soon as i add dissolves or other transitions, the shots “bloom” or sort of “zoom” in and out slightly during each transition…and otherwise the shots don’t move at all. i was going to do some panning and zooming on the shots, but just checking transitions first and see this icky zooming effect.

does anyone know how to get rid of this?? thanks…

thanks for helping out a bonehead,

Best not to double post to both the cow and calf.

motrimer heathcliff aka jtn aka bonehead.

Have you rendered your timeline? Make sure the ‘full’ option is checked in your sequence>render settings menu.

I believe you are watching a real time effect that has yet to be rendered. Once rendered, you should be good to go. Make sure you are watching out on a preview monitor and not in your canvas or browser.

I’ve found that you can sometimes get things to sit still by adding an extra filter to the clip. It seems to act rather like and extra “layer” to hold it in place and keep it from moving around. Shouldn’t have to do this of course… I’ve used the stop motion blur filter for this purpose – does absolutely nothing to the graphic but provides an extra layer of onion skin to keep things from fluttering around.
