Blood droplet
Posted by Phil Beastall on June 4, 2008 at 8:50 amI have a shot a person’s face and wondered what the best technique is to get a blood droplet to appear from their nostril and drop out of shot?

June 4, 2008 at 9:11 amSometimes buddy, CGI is harder than doing the effect in real life. Have you considered stage blood? or hitting your talent to accomplish the shot?

June 4, 2008 at 9:26 amAs much as I would have loved to hit our actors in the face, unfortunately it was a 5 month year old baby and it was quite tricky to do and we wanted the blood to fall in a specific way…anything I can use with the mr mercury effect?

I think you might be able to adapt that technique to create a blood drip effect.
You’ll probably have to animate a mask to change the shape of the blood droplet.
