  • Blocky video that starts out fine.. becomes corrupt during edit.

Hi I was doing a huge project with XDCAM EX 1080p 35. I got the files from my client on a hard drive. I imported them with Clip Browser. As I go along editing.. I start getting blocky video and or dropout looking artifacts. I also was using footage from the web and stuff shot on HDV. I only had the problems on footage that was the XDCAM. I was using all the correct settings on my timeline. Sometimes when I rendered it created the problems, sometimes just the non rendered footage became corrupt, and it went back to the imported footage. I had to keep re-importing clips from the original. Clips that were clean on the timeline became corrupt as the edit went on.

Should I not use XDCAM as my sequence Settings? Would having a ProRes sequence solve this problem?

    My gear:
Mac Book Pro 5,1 Dual 2.66
    4GB Memory
Media Drive: Caldigit VR Raid 1 Running on SATA with 34 Express card.
    Final Cut Pro 7.03
