    Hi all

Im wondering if anyone might be able to offer some help on the following issue:

I have some text in 3d space, which a camera is going to move in on. It starts out in focus, and then goes into focus. At the same time as the camera moves in on it, I am employing Block Dissolve on it.

The problem I am having is that when the camera is far away from the text, and the text is out of focus, the blocks of block dissolve are not. It looks quite silly with out of focus text, and cleanly defined blocks.

Any thoughts on why the blocks also aren’t going out of focus. Is it possible I have some layer or something out of order. I have tried basic precomping, and it doesn’t help.

    Much thanks,
    Ken

I get the results you’re looking for when I pre-compose. You’re not turning collapse transformations on are you? You should be able to either apply the block dissolve inside the pre-comp or on the pre-comp in your main comp.

The issue I think you’re running into involves the continuous rasterization of text, and that isn’t playing nicely with Block Dissolve.
