“Blinking” Marquee lights…
Hi,
Try to make a graphic with the appearance of a movie marquee. I am trying to get the lights to “blink”. Either at random or in order. Here’s what I’ve done so far:
Draw a small circle on the canvas.
Replicate that circle. Set the replications shape to rectangle and arrangement to outline, then tweak size and # of points until it’s filled the border of the screen to my liking.
Set color mode to colorize and colored it yellow.
Add a Bloom filter to make the circles glow a soft yellow.
Now I am trying to get them to flash or blink. Either randomly or clockwise around the border.
Have tried applying filters and/or behaviors to both the Replicator and the circle. So far I’ve only been able to make the lights sort of “jiggle” with some filters or move around the edge by key framing the “offset” point of the replicator.

The Sequence Replicator behavior is what you want – you can use it to animate the opacity of each cell.

There’s already a canned marquee effect you can alter, in library> replicators, >marquee.
