    Blinking folder and question mark on start up

    I was able to reboot and all seems to be fine on my 867 G4, 1.2gb, running 10.2.6 (its a dinosaur I know. ) On my first start up this morning I got a blinking folder with the finder icon alternating with a question mark. I just want to know what it means and should I scrap my avid all together? I ran disk utility and will back up my project files after I type this.

    your computer does not know which startup disk to use.
