I have a border of lights
I would like to create blinking the way christmas lights work.

kind of random, but also patterns.

i have a cloner with 2 different colored bulbs.

Is there a way to use the formula effector to change the distribution of where the 2 bulbs are?

any other suggestions for blinking lights would be great

    Thanks

It’s certainly possible. Drop both objects in the cloner and then set the Object>Clones parameter from the default Iterate to Sort. Then, in your formula effector, uncheck all the parameters but set the “Modify Clone” parameter to 100%.

You might also experiment with the Shader and/or Random effectors.

    perfect that looks great.

    one other question

for another style, I would like to make a smooth light dark light in luminance
and have that randomly occur at different times in different places on the cloner

for the dark bright dark i could either use keyframes or noise, but I’m not sure how to randomize the time and placement of it

    thanks again
