Bling! diamante effect
Anyone know how I might be able to create a diamante effect within AfterEffects?
I think there’s a trapcode plugin I could use to make star-shaped sparkles for light reflection, but I’m wondering about creating a diamond texture. If it’s possible to make something that has 3D values and will be affected by lights – Or something less realistic, stylised but sparkles like BLING..any ideas gratefully received!

Nope. Sorry, but you are looking for an easy solution where there is none. Due to their physical properties diamonds are not even easily doable in “real” 3D programs. If your just after the sparkling, use an animated Fractal Noise and apply Starglow to it.
