  Blending Modes – PSD to Illustrator

  I’ve been curious about this for a long time and haven’t found any answers online: if I place a PSD with various blending modes into Illustrator, do the blending modes come through in the composite (similar to toggling the Collapse Transformations switch on a pre-comp with a bunch of blending modes in After Effects?

  For example, lets say I have a picture of a box with a transparent background and I’ve created a contact shadow for the box and set the shadow layer to multiply. When I put it into illustrator, will the shadow part of the image still behave like a multiply blend mode? Or will it revert to “Normal?”

  Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated.
