    Hi,

    Please see attached….

I would like that white ring to be transparent so that I can see the map beneath it…. I need this to be precomposed because there is animation of the head bobbing around…

How is this possible please? because if I put a blending mode on it NOW (e.g. composition laid over the map) then it changes ALL the colouring….

    Any ideas please?…

    Does this make sense?

    Thanks for your time.

If I understand your question, I would suggest either using screen mode on just the head inside of the pre-comp and then turn on the “collapse transformations” switch on the pre-comp so the blending mode will come through into the main comp. OR you could just use the Knoll Unmult plug-in, which is free to download from Red Giant’s site, just search for it. It’s very handy for removing black and doesn’t require you use a blending mode.

The easiest and by far less polished way to do it is to duplicate de background and the head layer… set the background to luma mate of the bottom head and remove the white ring from the other.
