I should have figured this out long ago, but I’m asking now:

I have grey text on a white background.

Which brush blending mode (and color, but I’m guessing black) will darken ONLY the text, w/o coloring the white backdrop, and without making a Selection?

I’m reasonably sure this is possible, but haven’t found the correct combination of Blending Modes and color swatches. The obvious stuff doesn’t work: I’m guessing I need to select the proper swatches to exclude the background color.

    Thanks. How embarrassing.
