  • Blend Mode Effect over one Layer?

Posted by Thomas Frank on November 8, 2011 at 2:39 pm

Hi is there a possible way to have layers Blend Mode only effect the layer underneath it?
So it does not show up over the other layers in the chain underneath it’s layer.

    Thanks

Sure. Put the two layers in a group, and set the group’s blend mode to Normal.

Yeah I tried that but it seems not to work.
I want create a highlight for a text graphic but when I set the group to normal the highlight (line object in white) doesn’t turn transparent out side of the graphic.

The Stencil Alpha blend mode will restrict the layer it’s applied to based on the alpha channel of the layer underneath.
