This is for a 3 minute timeline. After 11 hours – only 120 more hours to go!

    Ahh…another day spent troubleshooting.

    wow that is molasses slow.

Do you have a plugin like magic bullet looks on every clip?

    Have you rebooted the machine?

Yep..it appears to be Magic Bullet Looks, which is applied to not ‘every’ clip, but several. Pulled all instances of it off, and encode takes 19 minutes.

Unfortunately, I’ve already dealt with Red Giant about Looks causing slow encodes on other projects, and they’ve not been able to determine the cause. I did some very intensive troubleshooting tests for them a few weeks ago, but can’t afford to do this any longer. I don’t get paid for troubleshooting, so it’s tough to spend so much of my time doing it.

I’ve pulled MB Looks off all of my machines. Better results and more fun to do it all in Speedgrade. Even just a single clip. So easy.

I’ve yet to dive into Speedgrade, but I’ve been meaning to. Looks like as good a time as any. Tell me, how do you handle features found in MBLooks such as diffusions and such.

While I’d encourage the dive into speedgrade…

is it possible set your render codec in PPro to one of the smart ones like PPro, render the clips with MB in the sequence….

then make sure you are using smart renders when doing the final encode?
