right i’ve come to the end of my tether with ppro. bug ridden and the slowest UI updates I’ve seen for years.

Been using it to edit radio shows, the ability to easily shuffle time around across multiple tracks (ignored by music programmes as they have to stay in time) made it easier.

nope, not any more. over the weekend I was seeing a StackAudioBuffer.cpp-58 debug event in pproheadless.exe when exporting and the answers i could find online did not clear the problem. only a re-import of the file made it ok.

did some editing, export worked. nice.

now i’ve reloaded the project with the import and now – there is no audio. all the chunks of files are in the sequence, but expaning the audio channel shows nothing inside.

double clicking a chunk brings up the source window. right filename (for example STE-003.wav) and start/end points. but no wave data. if however i double click on ste-003.wav in the project, the source window shows the wave data and it plays fine.

what gives? please help i’ve got a deadline of friday for this!

    *edit*
found this out. after double clicking the clip, then i double click the same source file in the project bins. the in/out sections are marked. if i drag the start/end magically the waveform appears in the timeline

this morning just found something out… if i right click the audio files in the bin and replace footage, select the same file again, magically all the clips of that name reappear with waveform info and things play.

and that propagates through a save/quit/reload cycle. hopefully this will enable me to finish off what I am doing ok, but never again. Going to explore alternative routes. The last machine I built was to the efi-x HCL so thinking of going over to FCP.
