June 10, 2011 at 7:13 pmI think I’m in the same boat as everyone else. The lack of 2nd Thunderbolt will be a dealbreaker. I have two Blackmagic based MacPro edit suites at office and recently just set up a home suite for takehome work utilizing a 2011 MacBook Pro with Caldigit FW800 storage and Apple 24 Thunderbolt LED display but was hoping that I could monitor/client review and a higher quality external LCD via HDMI but with only 1 Thunderbolt and no looping through it looks like I may have to take a look at the Matrox products unfortunately:(

June 13, 2011 at 5:05 pmThis is unfortunately a deal breaker for me too.
My sole reason for getting a UltraStudio is to be able to use it with DaVinci Resolve or Apple Color. We all know how cramped it is to operate these complex softwares when one is confined to a 15-inch or 17-inch screen.
I don’t need six monitors. I only need one large monitor to give me the workspace I need.
An external desktop monitor is a must for me.
