Blackmagic projects and DV projects in the same system (windows)
Hello. This is my experience (sorry for my English):
1) Print to tape (by firewire) of DV projects is only possible if a blackmagic projet is not loaded before. If a blackmagic project is open, then a reboot is necessary. For smooth playback (on DV tape) of blackmagic clips, the remove flicker option (in Premiere timeline) is necessary for that clips.
2) The best option is to use always a blackmagic Pal 8 bit YUV project, and to capture by decklink card or DV (firewire): the external monitor is used in the editing process. For to export this project to tape by firewire, import it in a DV (no blackmagic) project.I hope this help.

You can also use the Decklink card as an external monitor in a native Premiere DV project.

How? Well OK but this is only for you so keep it a secret…
1/ Open a new PPro 2 project
2/ select the ‘custom’ tab
3/ select DV PAL (or NTSC) from the drop downs
4/ click on ‘playback settings’
5/ in ‘external device’ select the BMD device (will show as a monitor number)
6/ set everything else as necessary
7/ save it as a preset for future useThe above will create an XML file in the edit preset folder of PPro.
