Hello I have a strange issue with my blackmagic intensity pro.

When I record footage using media express I cannot see anything in the preview window. It is just pitch black, no video shows up.

However the audio bars are moving and when I actually record the final video file works and plays just fine.

In other words, my blackmagic intensity pro is working just fine but media express preview is not working.

Anyone have some suggestions on what I can try?

It was working 2 months ago when I used my bmip last, I don’t think I’ve changed any settings on media express either.

    I’m stumped

    Hi Trent,

It would sound as if the preview in Media Express is simply not rendering. This is more often than not caused by graphics card drivers. we tend to see this kind of thing if the default graphics drivers from Windows Update are used.

I would suggest making sure to download and install the latest driver for your graphics card from the manufacturer’s website. If the hardware has not changed in your system, I would expect you will then see the preview without problem.

Thank you very much that was the issue… My graphics card driver got rolled back when I installed a driver for my onboard hdmi port… updating my radeon card fixed it.

    Thanks
