[Jeremy Garchow] ” The tables have turned! ;-)”

Well, concerning Apple and their strategies, there won’t be tables to turn anymore.
All they plan will be due to rest on our laps or in our hands.

It was a joke to Herb about waxing hypotheticals. That’s it. I laughed.

I didn’t laugh so much as chuckle. See, we still can’t agree.

    Hello,

I really do appreciate this step! It’s time for highend-conversion to become affordable!

What would also fit nicely into BMD’s portfolio would be Woodman Labs,
manufacturor of the GoPro camera and …

… owner of the CINEFORM Codec!

This codec alone would be a reason to buy a BMD I/O-Hardware
in times Adobe doesn’t have anything similar to offer and the
status of ProRes as accepted delivery codec is in question through FCP-X.

And the combination of BMD’s Hyperdeck series with Cineform – I only could say WOW!

    Best regards,
    Bernhard

I agree with Bernhard. Having the Cineform (and the GoPro) in the portfolio would widen their market – not moving it.

[Herb Sevush] “I didn’t laugh so much as chuckle. See, we still can’t agree.”

Which is consistent for you Herb!

After all, we wouldn’t want you to damage your brand as a “grumpy contrarian” – any more than people would accept my changing mine from “shameless Apple apologist” – it’s who we’ve allowed ourselves to become here just by being ourselves – and as we increasingly see, it takes too much time to understand a complex human being’s underlying truths – it’s easier to just suspend one’s critical, contextual thinking, and slot everything into what we perceive as it’s “brand attributes.”

We are not men, (nor DEVO!) – we’re just branding message depositories, willfully or not!

[Bill Davis] ” it takes too much time to understand a complex human being’s underlying truths”

Bill, my underlying truth is that I’m a grumpy contrarian.

It’s not my only truth, but it works here. Asking for others to understand our deeper underlying truths makes one sound like a moonstruck teenager – “oh why can’t they love me for who I truly am?” when the answer is we are what we say and do.

If our truths, like anything else, are buried too deep, they just might be somewhat deceased.
