I have an Xbox 360 and my Blackmagic records it just fine but I decided that I wanted to record a game on my PS3 but Media Express wont come up with a picture or anything, messed about with the settings but still nothing, can someone help?

Are you using HDMI? If so, the PS3 uses HDCP at all times so you can’t capture the feed. The Xbox 360 does not activate HDCP when playing games and at the dashboard (but I think it does when you play back movies and use Netflix).

You could capture PS3 video via component cables though, if that is an option.

Yes, Dale is spot on. The HDMI output of the PS3 is always HDCP enabled even if you’re playing a game which is unlike the Xbox 360.
