The only control panels qualified to function with BM Resolve are the Tangent Wave and DaVinci Resolve dedicated panel. The Wave will only work with the Mac version, and the Linux version requires the DaVinci control panel.

Just because something is a Blackmagic product does not mean that it is qualified to function with all other Blackmagic products, this application in particular.

Just to clarify: Impresario is no longer available. What was the Impresario panel set has been redesigned by BMD, and is now called the Resolve Control Surface.

A new manual for Resolve, including the Resolve Control Surface is being worked on. I don’t know what the current release estimate is for the manual, but maybe Peter can chime in with an estimate.

    Hi Aurie,

Yes, the Impresario information is still available in the old Resolve manual. Please download the PDF and then search it for the phrase “control surface”. Any reference to the DaVinci Control Surface or Resolve Control Surface is referring to the previous Impresario panels which connect via ethernet networking. You can download the PDF from https://www.blackmagic-design.com/downloads/davinci/pdf/DaVinciResolveManual.pdf

Resolve v7.0 for Linux will continue to support the Impresario and 2K panels as well as the new Resolve Control Surface which connects via USB.

    Hi Luke,

I have the old Impresario Panels for Resolve. I am currently using Resolve 9.0.3 (mac) and I cannot get the Resolve to recognize the panels. The panels power up and before I stopped using them about 3 years ago they worked perfectly fine. I imagine it is a firmware issue but how can I get the panels firmware to update if the program won’t even recognize the panels. These were originally used on a Linux platform.
