Blackmagic Design DeckLink for Macintosh v5.0 software for FCP 5
Just a quick note to let everyone know we have posted a beta release of our DeckLink software for Macintosh.
This release is marked beta 1, although it’s very close to a final version. We still have to complete FrameLink as well as gamma correction during capture. These features are almost complete but a few bugs still remain to be fixed before release. However with Final Cut Pro v5.0 being released today, it’s important to have a software update with full support for it today as well.
The details are in the read me file included with the release which is now posted to our web site, so please download them and check it out. This is an exciting release by Apple, and we think multi channel audio capture should really make a lot of people very happy!

Apple store still says 4-6 weeks for ship date. Matt, you know something we don’t?

We had our weekly conference call with Apple on Thursday and they informed us that FCP 5 had shipped to the stores the previous day and that we could speak about the “shipping” status now – Which is why we posted the new installer.

Well that sounds good! If you live in the US maybe. In Europe it is still June 6 that is the shipping date if you ordered the software the first day it was avalible at Apple Store.
But hey, if they send it out sooner, it’s all good.
