I am trying to find a good way to capture our live show into a file that is less than 1GB/1 minute. I have a Mac Pro with a Blackmagic Decklink and Final Cut Pro 7. I am outputting from my switcher 720p 59.94. The only options Final cut gives me to capture with are all uncompressed and I don’t need to end up with a 90GB file, thats too much for me to have with 3 shows a week… It only gives me a few options (that I am aware of) to capture with. Do I need to just capture Blackmagic HDTV 720p 59.94 – Apple ProRes (HQ) and render it down to a different format or is their a better way to capture that better suits my needs?

Create capture preset based on the Blackmagic ProRes HQ, then change to ProRes 422 or LT, or proxy
