FCP 5.1.1 & OSX 10.4.7 with Blackmagic SD Decklink Extreme. I’m running the latest Blackmagic software 5.7 and my second monitor (broadcast monitor) is not being recognized. In my system preferences the Blackmagic Icon shows up but when i open it all options are greyed out. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled BMD software a couple of times with no result.

    Anyone know what’s going on?

I am getting an error message in FCP when i change my easy setup to Blackmagic NTSC 8- bit. It reads: The computer doesn’t have Serial Port required for this protocol. Any ideas. I’m really stuck here.

    Hi,

As you’re running beta drivers, can I get you to download v5.6.3 from our site <https://blackmagic-design.com/support/software/> and install that instead. Do remember to run the “Uninstall Blackmagic” application first.

    regards

I’ve tried Decklink 5.6.2 but I don’t see 5.6.3. Have you heard of this issue before?

found 5.6.3 and IT WORKED! Thanks so much. The name “multibridge” threw me.

I was experiencing the same behavior with the original driver. In addition, 10-bit material wouldn’t play back. Only 8-bit material worked.

Upgraded to the latest beta, the card started working (and the preferences, too), but it caused the G5 sleep problems, namely the OS wouldn’t see the keyboard and mouse, and the fan began to suck air like crazy after waking up.

Went back to v5.6.3, and the sleep problem is gone.

well all was good for a while there and now the same problem is happening. the system isn’t recognizing a second monitor and the Decklink Panel is again greyed out.
