I am setting up color correction for a feature in Color Finesse in After Effects. The footage has been recaptured at uncompressed 10 bit (4:2:2). In order to properly display the color correction, am planning to use some BlackMagic hardware (HDlink and Decklink card) but in order to import the SDI captured files from a firewire drive(which were done at a post-house) i understand I need to use the Blackmagic Codec. The same goes for exporting an uncompressed, fully color corrected file. I have downloaded the Codec, but can’t tell if it is installed properly–should there be a “Blackmagic Codec” option for export in FCP or AE if it is installed right? How do I go about utelizing this for import/export? I am very new to all of this technology, so any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
