I’m making a video library for a client, using the footage I shot while making one of their videos last year.
I shot the footage in JVC HD720p 24fps and I’m exporting out from Adobe Media Encoader CS4.
I found the Blackmagic 8 bit MJPEG codec looks great when I adjust the settings from SD to HD, but that’s only if I play it back in Premeire. If I play it back in WMplayer it looks really bad, horizontal pixle pushing. What’s going on here? I really want to get this right because the library will be vast and time consuming to export. I only want to do it once and get it right. Should I export in a differnet codec altogether?

I had the same issue with Windows Media in XP and Vista. I’m running windows 7 now and Windows Media plays back Blackmagic MJPEG perfectly. If the library is for viewing only and not editing you might want to encode it to WMV HD or Quicktime H264.
