    Hi,

i’ve recieved some quicktimes from a post house which are compressed in this way:

    DVCPRO HD vout 1080i60 imdc, 1920 x 1080

is there any way to play this through a blackmagic card? is there any settings i should know about? at the moment i have put the project on blackmagic 10bit anamorphic. it’s going to be used for broadcast.

any advice would be really appreciated.

at the moment i’m having to recompress all the footage to 10bit black magic 720×576 anamorphic and it’s going to take around 10 hours. so if there’s anyway to avoid this it would be great.

    Hi,

In Final Cut Pro, try the “Blackmagic HDTV 1080i59.94 – DVCPRO HD” Easy Setup (CTRL-Q). Then turn on down conversion in the DeckLink Preferences.

i’m using final cut 4.5 and it doesn’t have that easy set up.
and i also don’t have that option in the decklink prefs.

    cheers for the help thou.

I’m also rendering out of after fx. It seems a bit stupid to render HD when it’s being broadcast SD. what sort of workflow does anyone suggest?

    so just to clarify:

i have 1080i dvcpro footage. i will be combining this footage with after fx renders.
delivery will be SD 720×576 anamorphic.

At the moment i was going to edit in HD then just export a SD version for delivery. Would it just be better for me to re-render everything at SD?

    thanks
