I am working with 4K ProRes footage from a Blackmagic Production Camera in Premiere CC. I would like to be able to access the camera metadata but Premiere does not see it. DaVinci Resolve does but that is an extra step at the rough edit stage that I would like to skip. I particularly would like to use the metadata as the timecode displayed during camera record, camera playback and when editing are 3 completely different things- makes on-set logging harder. Has anyone had any luck with this? BTW, Final Cut X sees the log notes from the metadata but nothing else.

A tool that you might consider using in your workflow is Edit Ready from my company, Divergent Media. We have a powerful metadata viewer that allows you to edit existing metadata keys as well as add your own custom and unique metadata entries. This is particularly helpful in Blackmagic Camera models as they include unique metadata keys that are directly accessible in most NLEs. While this is an extra step in your workflow, we have a few features in Edit Ready that I think you’ll find extremely useful. Download a free trial and see how you like it at https://www.divergentmedia.com/editready

    Hope this helps.
