    Hi Amr,
Based on prior reponses from the Decklink team I don’t believe the MB you are referencing would with a Decklink card. Like most server motherboard the board you are referencing only has support for the 8 MB ATI onboard video and lacks an AGP or PCIe slot. The Decklink team has said before that PCIe or AGP graphics hard is a requirement for having HD graphics.

There are some Quad Processor boards with PCIe boards in the pipeline including one that I have heard about that has support for up to 8 processors! I would have to imagine that you would be on the bleeding edge with this system though given the extremely high cost of quad motherboards and very expensive Opteron 8XX processors required to run them.

It is also worth noting that the Windows Server 2003 operating system that would be required to support more than 2 processors is not currently supported with the Deckink. I do get teary eyed when I think about how 8 way dual core Opteron 875 system would perform with Combustion or After Effects so I am hoping these issues with be worked through.
    Hope that helps,
    Gary

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for the report! I have been looking at the K8WE MB and it good to know you have had success with it. From your post it seems as though you are not having any negative issues. Have you been able to get the card to work in either slot with or without any other PCI-X cards installed? Are you still using the Opteron 246 processors? Thanks in advance for your info.

    Hi Gary,

Yes I’m still using the Opteron 246 processors, and the Decklink HD card works in the 133 MHz PCI-X slot without negative issues.

    Regards,
    Michael
