how do I properly configure my blackburst generator with my 1200a deck & avid mojo?

I have the blackburst generator running out to the mojo (thru the ref in breakout cable, and the deck going in SDI.

All the avid is seeing is a messed up video signal… the video signal is fine when I disconnect the blackburst generator but the avid gives me a loss of sync warning when I go to capture.

    anyone?

Why not just capture via firewire?

I need to capture in 15:1s… won’t let me do it over firewire.

I wasn’t sure from your initial post how you had things hooked up. You need the blackburst running to both the deck and the mojo. Most likely you’ll use a loop though on the back of the deck (ref in/out), so connect the blackburst to the deck’s ref in and then the ref out from the deck to the mojo. I’m not familiar with the deck, but there maybe menu settings for using external ref video rather than internal ref. You should get a little “ref” light showing up on the front of the mojo.

    erik…

thanks for the advice… it seems to work just fine… no more warning… only thing is the ref light on the front of the mojo doesn’t light up… but that shouldn’t be a problem should it?

    Don’t know…I don’t have a Mojo SDI…just have the original mojo’s, which light up. If it works…great.

I’m hooking up a blackburst generator so I can capture from a Beta SP deck. My ref light isn’t coming on. I’m using a Horita BB generator. It has multiple outputs. I have one going to the Mojo, one to the SP deck and one to the DVCAM deck. I may have a bad cable(s)or the Horita may not be working…just bought it on EBAY (sigh)…but how could a BB gen go bad? It looks really clean. Need to find a way to test it. Anyway. Cheers from a fellow Dels fan. Got Justin’s new CD yet?
