  • Black Vertical Lines on Timeline….

Posted by Beenice on March 20, 2007 at 5:08 pm

After editing a project for some time with no problems, I am suddenly getting black verticcal lines on top of certain clips in the timeline. If I reconnect these clips the lines go away but soon reapper on the same clips or sometimes on other randomn clips. It also seems to happen to clips that have transitions.
    Anyone have this problem?

Any chance you can post a screen shot of what you are talking about?

I would if the problem occured again. I ended up offlineing everything and then reconnecting. Now, I have no problems. Weird. If it happens again I’ll post somthing.
    Thanks for the response

We just saw this for the first time today on rendered files. We just recently updated to 5.1.4. Re-rendering got rid of the problem.
In 5 years on FCP I’ve never seen this particular type of corruption. We’re running FCP 5.1.4 on OS 10.4.8 rendering everything to Xsan

Beenice, what are your system specs?

    Cheers

Never seen it as well. We’ve updated to 5.1.4 as well. Here’s oure specs:

MacPro 3 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon
    8GB 667 MHz DDR@ RAM
    OSX 10.4.9
    Final Cut Suite 5.1.4

glad to see this is not just an isolated issue. I’ll let you know if the problem returns

These lines are actually showing up on the CANVAS window?

You know if they have filters on them, not on them or either on or off them?

Not sure why rendering them again would fix if they didn’t already have some treatment. Any specific filter you can name?
