Black Magic Television Studio – Importing Video From ProPresenter5/Concern.
I want to use video(MP4,MOV etc)in my production, I want to use playback softwares such as ProPresenter5 or playback-pro because it’s able to handle any video resolution and frame-rate. My concern is, when sending video from any of those softwares into the ATEM switcher via HDMI, is that, they wont play smoothly and play very choppy and unstable in the switcher. I am thinking of buying the ATEM switcher but very concerned about this issue. If anyone can help me or has experienced using video in the ATEM switcher, please tell me if this will or won’t be an issue.

The switcher wont’ make your video ‘choppy’. If it plays back smooth out of the computer then it will play back smooth through the ATEM. However if your computer doing the actual playback isn’t hefty enough to play back your videos smoothly, you’ll get chop.
Basically, smooth video playback isn’t an issue with the ATEM, it’s an issue with your source.
