    FYI

We have discovered a possible compatibility problem with the multibridge extreme.
    Currently our system is a:

Macpro 2×3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    5 Gig ram
    4 gig fiber card
    X raid 7tb

It is a completely out of the box new computer. When we tried to install the multibridge extreme to this machine the Mac would not boot. We would get a kernel panic and it would crash. Our vender insisted they tested the machine before they delivered it and it was working.

Blackmagic support walked us through several trouble shooting steps but at the end they believed we received a bad Multibridge. So We had our vendor send us another one.

When it was recieved and installed the same issue occured. Called Blackmagic they walked us through the same troubleshooting steps and came to the same conclusion. They said that it could be possible that we received two bad boxes in a row. It made sense since our system worked fine in ever other respect and would crash on start up only when the black magic multibridge was attached. So we sent the box out and got a new multibridge.

You guessed it the same thing happened again. At this point we are on first name basis with the good guys at blackmagic and we call them right away. This time they suspect its something wrong with our machine. We call our vendor. They walk us through starting up the machine and troubleshooting the problem etc

Is there any chance that a similar issue could arise from a 3gb eSATA PCIe card combined with a MB? My machine (oddly enough) has the exact same specs as yours, and our MB crashes our machine when playing back BM 10 or 8 bit timelines.

I’m sure its possible but I couldn’t say thats the case for sure since our troubleshooting steps only dealt with fiber channel cards. I would start by trying to playback MB 10 bit video with out the eSATAPCIe. If the machine crashes you know its not that.
