There have been other posts relating to this issue, but no one has ever offered a definitive explanation or fix. I have a project shot on DVCPro100 HD. I offlined on FCP using a cinema display, so I never saw true color. When I got to the online and was able to see the true image quality I found that all shots that had been speed effected or otherwise manipulated had a raised black level causing a pronounced brightening of those shots. I believe it has something to do with render settings, but I have tried every permutation possible with no solution. The best result I get is if I don’t render the shots at all. The problem is compounded by the fact that I do not have a true HD monitoring environment to see what’s what. I’m supposed to deliver in a week. Even Brian Meany from Apple was stumped when I queried him. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
