black hole!
Hey guys
I need to eventually design a black hole in the next few days, I’ve been checking out the 3d tunnel tutorial which was VERY helpful with RESHAPE, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to create an “vortex” within after effects. It doesn’t have to be 3d (well duh, AFX can’t do that), but just a design where I can simulate it being 3d by using expressions attached to a camera. I have some ideas, but if anyone out there has had success with it and has a cheat sheet to get my brain working in the right direction that would be helpful.

You can create vortices with Particular, this would take care of the funnel. Since the only thing you will ever see is the funnel and the exit depicting the event horizon from “the other side”, you should also be able to get some decent results using 3D Stroke (if you can get it to line up properly).
