    Hi there,
I’m using Final cut 6. I’m pretty new to Final Cut and have a question about transitions. I’ve been using basic dissolves and fades and everything has been fine. Now, after rending, my transitions will play fine until mid way through, then flash to black. I tried a test render, thinking that it may just be a preview problem but the export played the same. When I preview the transition in the time line it plays perfectly…until I render it, then it’s fine for the 1st half and black for the 2nd half. Any help would by greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    R

You might try using Render Manager to trash your renders and re-render. Although, I’m not sure why you’re having to render dissolves. They should play without render in almost every situation. What codec are you using to edit and is that codec showing up in your Sequence Settings under Compressor?
