Hi, my name is Felix and I am new on this forum! (sorry, I am not perfect in english)

I am doing some VFX on a project but I am currently facing a big problem:
My characters are wearing black cloths and they are doing some stunts on a blue mattress. I have to take out the mattress and keep the characters, but when I use keylight, there is some parts of my characters that are disappearing.
Is there a way to chroma key the seen without rotoscoping it?

    Thank you very much!!

    Hi Felix,

Wind back the screen balance a little for a start (to, say, 80). Then tweak the white and black clip levels until you are keying only the mat. Also play with the despil and alpha bias (take the eye droppers and select the black robe). Head over to the Foundry’s website and download the keylight manual for a pretty good explanation of what these settings do.

Hope that gives you some guidance.

    Daniel
