black artifact in AE from Ps
I am getting all kinds of black artifact on my psd images when I bring them into After Effects with the composition settings to “full”. If I reduce the render quality, the artifact goes away. Why is this happening? Is it something I need to fix on the photoshop side of things, or the after effects side?
None of the black on the right of this lady should be there.

The crazy thing is that I went into the Ps file (in photoshop) and made only the woman’s layer visible (since it is the layer with the problem) and deleted all the effects from the layer. So the only thing seen is the woman and a transparent background. I then saved it out as a PNG and used it instead of the Ps layer of the woman inside of the AE comp. The same artifacts appear. I’m stumped.

try turning off opengl or…
if channels are interpreted as straight when they are actually premultiplied, semitransparent areas retain some of the background color. If a color inaccuracy, such as a halo, appears along the semitransparent edges in a composition, try changing the interpretation method. or try channel Remove Color Matting effect.

Looks like a black stroke effect on a layer that has a 1% alpha channel to the right of the woman. The alpha may look transparant, but that 1 bit of opacity will ruin the stroke effect.
