  • bizarre qt / avid mc5 (win7) problem – graphics are over-sized

porting my MC5 environment from xp/32 to win7/64. i thought i had it working, but then i exported a qt, and found out that the graphics that are imported from photoshop have lost their scaling. on the avid timeline it all looks as it should, but the export qt has the .psd source graphics oversized & spilling out of the frame. this both for .psd files imported using avid’s matte-key, and with boris red.

i’m currently suspecting that the qt install is somehow corrupt as that tends to be the most brittle piece of this puzzle, but was wondering if someone else had seen this / found a remedy? also, i’m i’m reluctant to mess with qt – last upgrade of it damaged the installations of avid, ae, procoder & iTunes, and took a day to fix.

    mc5 – 5.0.3

    Your QT should be 7.6.6.
    See the Avid Version Matrix:
    https://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=267087

That would be the very first thing to try. Don’t go for the latest version, go for the version that Avid has tried and approved.

You can find links to installers of non-current QT versions here:

dear job – thanks for pointing me to the right version.

(though until i’ve tried i’m not sure that’s the glitch – it was working on winXP /w the old qt 7.3.1.70)

    anyway – will report back.

what exactly was at the heart of it we’ll perhaps never know. thanks for pointing me to the right direction, job.
